From 6 April 2014 the new ACAS early conciliation procedure shall become operational, and from 6 May 2014 it shall become compulsory. This is yet another change introduced by the current government to the Employment Tribual rules, which is designed to make the system more efficient. It attempts to encourage conciliation at an early stage before the claim is lodged, and affects both employee / former employee claimants and employer / former employer respondents.
