New Judicial Review Deadline

Judicial Review is the process whereby a person may apply to the Court of Session (Scotland’s highest domestic civil court) for a review of decision taken by the government or other public bodies. Sometimes other courts and tribunals may possess a similar power of review if specific provision is made for it by statute, for example the Sheriff Court has wide-ranging review powers over licensing matters.

However, in absnece of specific statutory provision, the Court of Session acts as a kind of default forum for this kind of process.
